Make the best out of China Wholesalers in Facebook

Most onlines companies, including many Chinese wholesalers, have turned out to Facebook to enjoy a new way to interact with their audience and potentially attract new customers. In today’s post we’ll have a look at how LightInTheBox, DinoDirect, AliExpress, Chinavasion and DHgate deal with Facebook and the benefits their ‘friends’ enjoy.

LightInTheBox

LightInTheBox Facebook page
LightInTheBox is the most popular wholesaler with over 50,000 friends. They also have another 2,000 friends in their Spanish & French pages but we will focus on the English page for this article.
Most of the interactions begin with special products from LightInTheBox. Sometimes they offer an exclusive discount or a video review or simply just a shopping recommendation.
It’s quite interesting the rounds of Deal or No Deal. These rounds could begin at any time so it’s best to keep an eye close on them. During a limited period of time (normally 1 hour) a predefined number of fans (30) have to say “Deal!” on the Facebook page to enjoy a great discount on a product or category. We’ve seen discounts of up to 70%!
If you have questions about your order, LightInTheBox Facebook is also a good place to go. They normally provide support or further instructions within minutes!

DinoDirect

DinoDirect Facebook page
With more than 7,000 friends DinoDirect is one of the most popular wholesalers in Facebook.
They keep the community busy with many competitions and special promotions. At the moment to celebrate Valentine’s if you share a picture of you and your couple, you get the chance to win a digital camera.
Until the end of February they also run a kind of ‘Group Like’. If they get 15,000 friends this month they will draw out an iPhone 4 for their fans. If the number reaches 20,000, they also draw one iPad.
We’ve seen many customers asking questions about their order status and delivery times. Some of them went unanswered… wondering if DinoDirect skipped them or replied with private messages.

AliExpress

AliExpress Facebook page
AliExpress only have around 700 friends at the moment. We wonder if it’s because they don’t pay that much attention to Facebook, or because they are still the new kid in town or possibly because their core demographics are older than the Facebook audience (thinking of those traditional wholesalers/importers coming from Alibaba.com).
They use Facebook to echo their blog stories and improvements on the site.

DHgate

DHgate Facebook page
DHgate is counting more than 8,000 friends getting to the second place on today’s list.
Their community is one of the most active we’ve seen and they always seem to be some sort of competition or special deal going on. The key point is that almost every question from their customers about products, orders, seller quality, etc. is quickly answered and followed up.

Chinavasion

Chinavasion Facebook page
Chinavasion community is not too big, around 2,000 friends at this time. There are no special competitions running, neither exclusive discounts yet. However the community is very focused and professional and the conversations and stories shared are quite interesting. Many fans come to share positive experiences with Chinavasion and their products and engage in enriching discussions about product features.
